Two parter today focusing on dialing in the power snatch. Athletes will first build to a heavy single power snatch. “Heavy’ is relative for the day and prioritizes mechanics over load. Carrying over this power snatch practice into “Randy”, a CrossFit Hero workout named after Randy Simmons, 51, a 27 year LAPD veteran and SWAT team member who was killed February 6, 2008 in the line of duty. This is completed at a very light weight, something athletes are capable of completing 30+ repetitions unbroken when fresh.

~ For Open Gym, a FTCF athlete or coach will be at the gym to unlock all the equipment and make the speaker and timer available for use. There will be no official coaching, but there will be an athlete brief for the WOD, and you’ll be able to work out with other awesome people. Look to the more experienced athletes for advice on points of performance.
~ Steve is now the FTCF affiliate manager, and Rhiannon is the co-manager. Please seek us out for any questions or concerns you may have – in person, by email, or by Facebook.
A sense of community is at the heart of every great CrossFit Box, no matter how small. We are extremely grateful to the athletes that are willing to help out for the open gym sessions and to the athletes providing continuous support. We will keep this community strong by continuing this unwavering support while also embracing new athletes into the community. See you at the whiteboard!!
