I grew up playing competitive sports such as baseball and football where I earned all-state honors in high school. I moved from playing to coaching and coached two years of high school baseball while attending a university.
I always considered myself a strong person and did the whole globo-gym thing on and off, but never could keep consistent. I love to move and be active and doing the same movements week in and week out at the gym just got boring. So my typical cycle would be to work out consistently for 3-4 months, then stop because i was bored and tired of it for the other 8-9 months of the year. This went on for sometime and I never was able to reach my full potential strength and conditioning wise.
It wasn’t until the fall of 2013 that I finally gave crossfit a try. After my wife, Tiffany Anderson (one of the other coaches here at Fight Tonight) went to her first crossfit class, she came home and told me ”You have to try this!” It took me a few months to finally go, but once I went I was hooked. I thought I was in decent shape, but after that first WOD I realized just how badly my body moved. It was awful and amazing all at the same time!
It was a new challenge then and continues to be a challenge two and a half years later! That’s what I love about Crossfit. There is ALWAYS something to work on. To get you stronger both physically and mentally. It is all about achieving the things you once thought you wouldn’t be able to achieve!
That’s what drew me into coaching. I took the Level 1 course in August of 2015 and have been coaching since then. I am here to help you all achieve the once thought unreachable!
I look forward to seeing you on the PIT
