Mike has been doing CrossFit since 2008, first finding the lifestyle while studying abroad and working out at Orange Fitness, a globo gym in Dortmund, Germany. After returning to the USA, Mike joined CrossFit Buffalo to receive more formal education into the art of CrossFit.
In 2010 he received his CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certificate, and soon thereafter attended the CrossFit Endurance seminar. Mike attended Rudy Nielson’s Outlaw Way training camps in Dublin, Ireland in 2012, and again in Lappeenranta, Finland in 2014. Mike was a lead coach at CrossFit Wiesbaden between 2013-2015. While in Germany, Mike was a team member of the Hessen State Olympic Weightlifting Team in the 77kg weight class. Training under Peter Krinke, an Olympic Gold Medal coach, at ASC Zeilsheim, Mike became attune to the intricacies of Weightlifting.
In 2015, Mike returned to the USA and attended the CrossFit Level 2 seminar, as well as the USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach certificate course. Mike additionally attended Greg Everett’s Catalyst Athletics Weightlifting Seminar at OPT in Scottsdale, AZ in 2015, and became certified in the Catalyst Athletics methodology.
Mike loves Snatch more than anything! It’s his favorite lift. Ask Mike anything! He’s very personable.
